Xentry Update Service Control Center 🆕 Ad-Free

If you have Xentry installed, accessing the Service Control Center is straightforward but often hidden.

Step 1: Launch Xentry Diagnostics on your laptop (Windows 10/11 IoT Enterprise preferred). Step 2: Do not open "Quick Test." Instead, look for the Administration tab or gear icon in the top right corner. Step 3: Select "Xentry Update Service Control Center" from the dropdown menu.

Alternatively: You can find the standalone executable directly in your installation directory: C:\Program Files (x86)\Mercedes-Benz\Xentry\UpdateService\XentryUpdateServiceControlCenter.exe xentry update service control center

Once opened, you will see a dashboard displaying:

The Xentry Update Service Control Center is the background utility responsible for managing the communication between the local diagnostic software (Xentry/DAS) and the Mercedes-Benz central servers. Its primary role is to facilitate software updates, license management, and configuration synchronization.

Contact your Mercedes-Benz fleet support representative or authorized distributor to learn about licensing, installation requirements, and integration with existing workshop networks. The utility serves three primary purposes: The Xentry

| Scenario | How Control Center Helps | |----------|--------------------------| | Multiple XENTRY laptops in a shop | Push updates from one server → all clients updated simultaneously. | | Slow internet connection | Download once locally, then redistribute via LAN. | | VCI firmware mismatch | Detect outdated VCI and initiate remote firmware update. | | Audit compliance | Produce report showing all systems are on released software versions. |

This is a lifesaver for low-storage SSDs. Over time, the Control Center downloads hundreds of "Delta packages" that are no longer needed. Use this tool to clear the C:\ProgramData\Mercedes-Benz\Xentry\UpdateCache folder. Caution: Do not delete the "Base" folder, only the "Temp" subdirectories.

Cause: This occurs in offline setups where the container file was repacked incorrectly. Fix: Ensure your system date is correct. Mercedes certificates expire. Set your BIOS date back to the release month of the update pack if necessary (common in cracked environments).

The Xentry Update Service Control Center is the systems administrator of the diagnostic environment. While it is invisible during the actual troubleshooting of a vehicle, its stability is the prerequisite for a functional diagnostic session. Mastery of this tool—specifically knowing how to clear cache, restart services, and manage hardware IDs—is essential for any technician running the Xentry platform.
