X‑Club Wrestling – Episode 21 Review
Rating: ★★★★☆ (4/5)
Just as Damon Black celebrated his tainted victory over Tommy Vex – earning a future X-Club Title shot – the lights flickered. When they came back on, "Mad Dog" Maddox (out for 8 months with a torn ACL) stood in the ring. He didn't say a word. He just nailed Black with a Crippling Curb Stomp onto the title belt, then turned and did the same to Tommy Vex.
Why this matters: Maddox was the inaugural X-Club champion before his injury. He never lost the title – he was forced to vacate it. By attacking both the current #1 contender (Black) and the man who injured him (Vex), Maddox has declared war on the entire main event scene.
Unlike previous episodes that open with high-energy pyro and techno music, Episode 21 started inside a dimly lit locker room. The X-Club World Champion, “The Iconoclast” Victor Cross, was shown taping his wrists in silence. The camera lingered on a torn photograph of him and his now-estranged tag team partner, Zeke "The Freak" Morgan.
This somber tone set the stage for what would be the most emotionally brutal episode in X-Club history. The commentary team—Mike Radical and “Platinum” Pat Pierce—noted that this was the first episode filmed in the new “Hardcore Arena,” a smaller, intimate venue with no barricades and steel chairs bolted to the floor. Rating: 9
Key Moment: The cold end featured a knock on Cross’s door. When he opened it, there was no one there—just a black X-Club hoodie with a note that read: “Tonight, you lose everything.”
