The killer feature of qcow2 is snapshots. Before testing sketchy software or Windows updates, take a snapshot:

# Create a snapshot (live VM)
virsh snapshot-create-as windows7 clean_state "Before installing driver X"
qemu-img snapshot -l windows7.qcow2
