Advanced technicians sometimes open the Delta HMI to access the JTAG (Joint Test Action Group) header or the UART serial pins on the circuit board. By connecting a logic analyzer or a programmer (like a Bus Pirate), they can dump the raw flash memory. unlock delta hmi password
The password hash is stored in a specific sector of the memory. Tools like binwalk or custom Python scripts can sometimes extract the hash. However, Delta uses proprietary encryption on newer models (AES-128 or similar), making this nearly impossible without the manufacturer's private key.
The Risk: Sending the wrong voltage to the JTAG pins will fry the main CPU. The HMI will become a brick.
