Strengthsfinder Free Version May 2026
This is the holy grail of the StrengthsFinder free version search. Many educational institutions and corporate libraries purchase bulk access codes.
If you are currently a student or employee at a university or large company, check your internal portals.
Warning: Once a code is used to generate a report, it is dead. You need a brand new, unscratched code. If you borrow a book, ensure the code has never been peeled.
Go to your local public library or university library. Check out StrengthsFinder 2.0 by Tom Rath. Do not use the code inside (it is likely used). Instead, read the book. The book contains a vast amount of information about each of the 34 themes. You can often self-identify your top 5 strengths simply by reading the descriptions and intuiting which resonate most. This is not scientific, but it is free and surprisingly accurate for many people. strengthsfinder free version
In the past, some versions of the assessment allowed users to see their "Top 5" themes for free, but that has largely been phased out. However, Gallup occasionally runs promotions with partners (universities or large employers) where a free truncated report is offered.
Where to find it: Check Gallup’s official blog or sign up for their email newsletter. They sometimes offer free access to the "CliftonStrengths Explorer" (designed for youth or young adults) which is a lighter, free version of the tool.
Fill in this blank:
"I am at my best when I am using my strength of [STRENGTH NAME] to [ACTION]."
Example: "I am at my best when I am using my strength of Empathy to resolve conflicts between team members."
Gallup occasionally offers a 7-day free trial to their "CliftonStrengths Access" portal for coaches or team leaders. While intended for professionals, individuals can sometimes sign up for a trial, take the assessment during the trial period, and download their results before the trial ends. Note: You must remember to cancel the subscription to avoid charges. This is the holy grail of the StrengthsFinder
