SMAPI (mod loader) works on Android, but only for 1.5.6.
Most mods that work on PC 1.5.6 will work on Android with minor tweaks.
When 1.6 finally lands on your Android phone or tablet, here’s what you’re getting:
Internal Storage/StardewValley/Mods/| Problem | Solution |
|---------|----------|
| Game crashes on load | Clear cache (Settings → Apps → Stardew Valley → Storage → Clear cache). Do NOT clear data. |
| Mods not showing | Ensure SMAPI installed. Check folder case: Mods/ not mods/. |
| Controller not working | Pair before launching game. Enable Options → Controllers → Use Controller. |
| Lag in Ginger Island | Reduce zoom to 80%, turn off Show tool hit location. |
| Save won't load from PC | Open the save file with a text editor. Change <gameVersion> to 1.5.6. |
| No sound / music | Install OpenSL ES via Magisk (if rooted) or restart phone. | stardew+valley+156+android

Here’s why 1.5.6 is still fantastic:
✅ Saves are backed up to Google Play Games (optional).
✅ Auto-updates (but 1.6 is not out yet, so safe).
