TournamentsReleased originally in 2017 by Rebellion Developments, Sniper Elite 4 moved the franchise away from the gritty, grey corridors of Berlin (Sniper Elite 3) and into the sun-drenched, mountainous terrain of 1943 Italy. The campaign follows OSS agent Karl Fairburne as he aids the Italian Resistance in fighting back against the Fascist regime and the encroaching Nazi war machine.
The map design is the true hero here. Unlike the linear corridors of many shooters, the Italian countryside offers massive sandboxes. You can climb olive groves for a bird’s-eye view, hide in tall grass for a close-quarters takedown, or trigger environmental explosives to cause elaborate diversions.
Why v1.5.0 specifically? This is the patch that broke the game out of its launch bugs and into a "definitive" state. Key changes in version 1.5.0 include:
