Unlike physical QNAP units that include a base license with the hardware, QUTScloud charges based on maximum raw storage capacity. You buy a license tier (e.g., 16TB, 64TB, or Unlimited). If you attach a 20TB virtual disk to a 16TB license, the system will throw a violation error and refuse to mount the volume.
