Within 48 hours of v0.3’s release, “Sorry Karl” transcended gameplay. Players began using it as a catchphrase for any unavoidable, self-inflicted disaster:
The mod’s subreddit was flooded with “F for Karl” threads. One user compiled a 12-minute video of every “Sorry Karl” voice line (the Princess’s voice actor recorded three variants, each more hollow than the last).
