As of 2025, the Primus Rewe Group is pivoting toward "Phygital" retail—blending physical stores with digital commerce. They are currently beta-testing a micro-fulfillment center system where the Primus warehouse handles online orders for the retailer's local delivery zone.

The goal is to allow a small Rewe partner to offer 30-minute delivery via platforms like Lieferando or Wolt without holding extra inventory. The Primus system will do the picking and packing; the retailer just handles the last mile.

Primus was the first gas station chain in Germany to eliminate single-use plastic bags entirely by 2021. They introduced edible cutlery and compostable salad bowls.
