Version 3.70.0E (v3700e) became famous because it supports a wide legacy of controllers, including the widely used PS2251-07 (2307) and PS2251-03 (2303). These controllers plague many Corsair, Kingston (DataTraveler G3/G4), and PNY drives. When these controllers fail, they report "0 MB" capacity or simply don't appear in Windows. MPALL v3700e was the last version to reliably communicate with them before later versions dropped legacy support.
The Phison MPALL v3700e patched executable (usually named MPALL_F1_070A_v370_0E.exe or similar) has been modified by reverse engineers. The patches typically include:
Without the patch, v3700e is a museum piece. With the patch, it becomes a scalpel for salvaging "dead" flash drives.
When a flash controller detects too many bad blocks, it locks itself to read-only. To bypass: phison mpall v3700e patched
Note: This will permanently reduce capacity based on how many blocks are remapped.
If the patched v3700e doesn't work for your drive, consider:
But for the golden-era Phison USB 2.0/3.0 drives (2010–2016), MPALL v3700e patched remains the ultimate last resort. Version 3
Unplug the drive, plug it back in. Windows should ask to format it. Use default exFAT or NTFS. You now have a working (though potentially lower-capacity) USB drive.
Warning: The internet is filled with malware disguised as MPALL tools. Always scan downloads.

| Error Message | Meaning | Patched Fix |
| ----------------------------- | ------------------------------------------ | ----------------------------------------------- |
| Device not match | VID/PID not in database | Use patched exe with Skip VID Check=1 |
| Driver error (0x1042) | Wrong driver installed | Reinstall Phison driver via Zadig |
| ISP Failed (0x1106) | Firmware mismatch or NAND die issue | Try a different firmware BIN version |
| Read Only mode | Drive in secure mode | Use Preformat Mode=2 plus Erase All=1 |
| Timeout on command | Dead NAND or damaged controller | Run again with SlowWrite=1 (patched only) |
| No drive found after reset | Bootloader not entering ISP mode | Remedy: Short two pins of the flash chip (advanced) |
The patched version will automatically retry the ISP phase 3 times, unlike the original which gives up immediately.
