Ozone Imager 2

One of the best uses of Imager 2 is reducing stereo width on bass sounds. Stereo bass causes phase cancellation and weak low-end.

The centerpiece of the plugin is the Vectorscope. Unlike a standard volume meter, the Vectorscope displays the stereo image in real-time.

Low frequencies are omnidirectional. If you widen your bass guitar or 808 kick past 20%, you will introduce phase cancellation. In a club, the bass will sound weak and flabby. The Fix: Use a Multiband imager (like the one in Ozone 11) or filter the lows before Ozone Imager 2. ozone imager 2

The core width knob is transparent. Stereoize II can sound unnatural if overdone, but it’s excellent for creative effect or correcting overly narrow mixes. There’s no mid‑side EQ or per‑band width control beyond the single crossover — for that, you’d need the full Ozone.

The XY grid shows the relationship between the Left (X-axis) and Right (Y-axis) channels. One of the best uses of Imager 2

As you adjust the Width knob or engage Stereoize v2, watch the Vector Scope. You want to widen the image horizontally without creating a circular cloud.
