Heat milk with vanilla to a simmer. Whisk yolks, sugar, cornstarch. Temper with hot milk, return to pan, cook until thick pastry cream forms. Off heat, stir in orange blossom water. Cover with plastic touching surface, chill 2 hours. Then whip heavy cream separately and fold into chilled pastry cream. This is your “D” cream — silky, light, and fragrant.
