The Hackintosh community has evolved significantly since the release of High Sierra. Using a "Niresh DMG" is now considered an outdated and unsafe method.

Recommendation: Use the OpenCore Install Guide

Instead of searching for a pre-patched DMG, the technical community strongly recommends the following method:

Warning: This process is outdated and risky. Modern Hackintoshes should use OpenCore or Clover with a vanilla macOS installer.

  • Boot the USB – At the Niresh boot screen, you may need boot flags like -v (verbose), -x (safe mode), or nv_disable=1 for NVIDIA issues.

  • Disk Utility – Erase target drive as APFS (for SSD) or Mac OS Extended (for HDD), GUID Partition Map.

  • Install – Select the destination and let the installer copy files. It will reboot once.

  • Post‑Installation – Niresh includes a “Post‑Install” wizard to select bootloader, kexts, and generate a unique SMBIOS (serial number).

  • Boot from HDD – After finalizing, boot from the hard drive. Expect glitches – audio, network, or sleep may need manual fixing.

  • No. Distributing or downloading a modified macOS installer violates Apple’s copyright. Only downloading the original installer from Apple using a genuine Mac is legal.
