My College Memories -v0.2b- -orphanstudio- Online
There is a bench near the old student union. In v0.2b, if you sit on this bench between 6 PM and 7 PM, a character named "Maya" spawns. Maya does not exist in the lore documents. She does not appear in version 1.0. She only exists in this beta.
She asks one question: "Are you going to miss any of this?" Your answer locks you into an ending path that was so emotionally devastating that the team voted to remove it. The save files from v0.2b that have reached this bench cannot be converted to newer versions. The game literally refuses to move on.
Colleges are orphanages for adulthood. You arrive as a child, fresh from the protective custody of school and family, and you are left in a dormitory with strangers. You have to figure out how to do laundry, how to stay awake for an 8 AM lecture, and how to pretend you understand calculus.
I started OrphanStudio in my second semester. The name came from a late-night existential crisis. Sitting on the cold floor of a hostel room in Hyderabad, my roommate snoring like a chainsaw, I realized I had no safety net. If I failed this assignment, nobody was coming to save me. I was an orphan of responsibility.
That’s when I wrote the first line of code for My College Memories. It was a text-based journal script in Python. Version 0.1a was just a while True loop that asked, "What did you learn today?"
OrphanStudio’s lead engineer spent 200 hours on the rain system in v0.2b. In the retail version, rain is aesthetic. In this beta, rain is mechanical. Puddles form in real time, slowing your movement. Umbrellas have durability. If you run between the Science Quad and the Dormitory without a jacket, your character catches a cold, altering all dialogue trees for the next three in-game days. Critics called it "tedious." We called it "realism."
Version 0.2b is where things got messy. This wasn't just a journal anymore. I wanted to gamify suffering.

My College Memories is an adult-themed simulation and visual novel game developed by OrphanStudio. The game places players in the role of a university student named Tom, navigating the social, academic, and personal complexities of campus life.
The latest stable beta release, v0.2b, continues to expand on the game's core loop of managing time, building relationships, and uncovering the "memories" that define the protagonist's collegiate journey. Core Gameplay Mechanics
The game utilizes a time-management system where each day of the week is divided into four distinct periods:
Morning: Often designated for attending classes to maintain or tally your school grade.
Afternoon: A flexible window for campus exploration and social interaction.
Night: Primarily used for specific events or deepening bonds with characters. Technical updates:
Midnight: Typically reserved for late-night secrets or resting for the next day. Character & Story Progression
A central focus of My College Memories is interacting with a diverse cast of female characters, including Kendra, Zoe, Helley, and Rin. Players must earn "love points" through dialogue choices and scripted events to unlock unique scenes and story branches. Key narrative milestones in recent versions include:
Family Outings: Major Sunday morning events, such as beach trips or picnics, that force players to choose between characters, directly impacting their affection levels.
Social Dynamics: The game explores themes of jealousy and rivalry, where favoring one girl can lead to a decrease in "love" from others. Key Features in v0.2b
The v0.2b update specifically focuses on refining the early-game experience and adding new environmental triggers. Players can visit locations like Andrew's house, the local beach, and the school library to trigger specific interactions. The game also features "extra skins" and compressed content packages for supporters, which add visual variety to character models. How to Play
If you are currently in college and reading this, close this article. Go outside. Talk to that person. Fail a class. Learn something useless that isn't for marks. My code is full of pointers to memory addresses that no longer exist. I optimized for grades, but forgot to optimize for people.
My College Memories -v0.2b is abandonware. I have released the source code into the public domain of my brain.
To the friends who shared the RAM of that tiny room: Thank you for the cache hits.
To the professors we pranked: Sorry for the segmentation fault.
And to the current students: When you compile your own memories, make sure you have a function that saves before the crash. Because once the power supply is cut, the terminal goes black.
// End of log

// Press any key to be nostalgic.
