Mbot Electus Full

When you open the mBot Electus Full kit, the first thing you notice is the lack of clutter. The anodized aluminum parts are laser-cut precisely. Here is the inventory breakdown:

Pop off the mCore board and upload custom C++ code. The "Full" kit gives you enough hardware (multiple sensors, motors, servos) to graduate from block coding to real embedded systems programming.

The "Full" designation literally means you get everything Makeblock offers for the mBot platform in one box.

While the mBot lacks a true LIDAR, you can use the Ultrasonic sensor mounted on a servo (included in "Full" packages). Sweep the sensor left to right to create a simple 2D map of obstacles on the mBlock display. mbot electus full

Standard mBots are great for 8-year-olds learning Scratch. The Electus Full, however, targets ages 12+ to university level. The inclusion of encoder motors means you can teach PID control (Proportional-Integral-Derivative) – a college-level engineering concept. You can program the robot to drive exactly 1 meter forward and turn 90 degrees with mathematical precision, something the basic gear motors cannot do.

The mBot Electus Full is effective for intermediate robotics education. Future work includes a ROS 2 integration for high school advanced robotics and a teacher training module.
