Unlike the old version where order didn't matter as long as the chain was correct, the patched version requires strict vertical alignment. The bottom slot is the base of the food chain. Do not start at the top.

After the patch, Five-BN added a forced hint. Open your in-game diary and read the page titled "Swamp Ecology." It explicitly says: "The fungus feeds the slug. The slug feeds the lizard. The lizard fears the bird." This is your literal answer key.

After placing the creatures, do not close the window. You must now click the "Balance Stone" in the bottom-left corner of the puzzle UI. This did not exist in the old version. Clicking it runs a validation script. If you did it right, the totem glows green. If you did it wrong, it glows red and resets.

The patch fixed the bug and increased the logical difficulty, forcing players to actually understand the predator-prey relationship rather than memorizing a sequence.
