Crucial Warning: Do not rename the file. It must be exactly License.xml. If you save it as MyLaunchBoxLicense.xml, LaunchBox will ignore it completely.
Simply put, this XML file is your digital license key. When you purchase LaunchBox, you don’t get a traditional software key to type in. Instead, you download this single file. It tells LaunchBox that you are a verified paying customer, unlocking: launchbox license.xml
Without this file, LaunchBox will run in free mode (limited to 100 games and no Big Box).
You won’t find this file in your Documents folder or your AppData folder. LaunchBox is designed as a portable application. Everything it needs lives inside its own root directory. If you are offline or prefer manual control:
