Icampus | 3200

Date: April 24, 2026 Prepared For: Facilities & IT Steering Committee Subject: Deployment readiness, technical specifications, and ROI analysis

  • Issue: Cannot discover Modbus devices.
  • Issue: Remote access not working.
  • Setting up the iCampus 3200 is surprisingly straightforward, but best practices require planning.

Step 1: Physical Placement Mount the device in a central location. Because it supports PoE+, you can run a single Cat6 cable from your network switch to the unit. Avoid placing it inside a metal electrical panel (which kills RF signals). The metal chassis is a heatsink, so allow 2 inches of airflow.

Step 2: Network Connection Connect one Ethernet port to your upstream router (WAN) and the second port to a downstream switch for IoT devices. The iCampus 3200 can act as a VLAN tagger, isolating your light bulbs from your laptop traffic.

Step 3: Power On Using the PoE+ injector or the included 12V adapter. The LED ring will pulse white during boot (~90 seconds) and turn solid blue when ready.

Step 4: Initial Configuration Download the "iCampus Manager" app (iOS/Android/Web) and scan the QR code on the device's underside. Follow the wizard to:

Step 5: Building Dashboards The default dashboard is a drag-and-drop editor. Add widgets for weather, energy consumption, and device status. For advanced users, the built-in "Automation Studio" (a visual scripting interface like Node-RED) allows for complex logic: "When sunrise occurs AND no one is in the master bedroom AND the outside temperature is > 30°C, close the automated shades."
