Since the driver is not Microsoft-signed for Windows 10:

The HP un2420 can work on Windows 10, but it is not plug-and-play. Performance is limited to 3G/HSPA (up to 7.2 Mbps down / 5.76 Mbps up). For reliable 4G/LTE, consider upgrading to an external USB LTE modem or a newer WWAN card (e.g., HP hs3210 / Sierra Wireless EM7455).

If AT commands work, the driver is installed correctly.

The Gobi 2000 requires a Qualcomm Download (QDL) service to load firmware. Since the driver is not Microsoft-signed for Windows

This step is complex; many users stop here if the module still doesn’t connect.

  • If Windows warns about unsigned driver → choose Install this driver anyway.

    • After install, the device should appear under Network adapters as “Qualcomm Gobi 2000” or similar.

  • Right-click the device → Update driver.
  • Select Browse my computer for drivers.
  • Click Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer.
  • Click Have Disk → Browse.
  • Navigate to the extracted driver folder and select the .inf file (usually gobi2000.inf or qcmdmntl.inf).
  • Select the Qualcomm Gobi 2000 model from the list.
  • Ignore any compatibility warnings and click Yes / Install.
  • Restart your PC.
