Counterfeit drives (fake capacity drives) are rampant. A drive may be sold as 128GB but physically only contain a 4GB chip. While this tool cannot magically add missing memory, it is used to "factory reset" a hacked drive. After running the tool, the controller reads the actual NAND flash geometry and reports the true physical capacity. This prevents data loss that occurs when users unknowingly write more data than the drive can physically hold.
Do not open the main tool yet. First, use ChipGenius (third-party USB identifier) to confirm your bridge.
One of the most valuable features is fixing fake drives sold on eBay or AliExpress (e.g., a "1TB" drive that is actually 32GB).
MPTools stands for "Mass Production Tools." These are proprietary software utilities provided by the controller manufacturer (in this case, FirstChip) to their OEM partners. Their primary purpose is to configure the flash drive during the manufacturing process.
The v1052 build is a specific iteration of this software suite. It is favored by repair technicians because it offers a stable interface for performing "mass production" operations on existing, corrupted drives. Unlike standard formatting tools that operate at the file system level, MPTools operates at the firmware level.
There are many versions of MPTools (e.g., v1018, v1046, v1066, etc.).
