The plot of First Night -2024- NeonX Original is deceptively simple. We follow Kai (voiced by newcomer Sora Nakamura) , a "memory archivist" in the megalopolis of Neo-Tokyo 2187. Her job is to enter the digital dreamscapes of the recently deceased to retrieve legal data. It’s a mundane, corporate job—until her "First Night" on a high-profile case.

Kai is assigned to decode the final neural upload of a reclusive AI developer, Dr. Aris Thorne. Thorne died under mysterious circumstances, and his digital "Ghost" is locked inside a volatile simulation of the night he died. The title, First Night, refers to two things: Kai’s first night on the job in the high-risk wing, and the endless, looping first night of the Apocalypse—December 31st, 2187. Unlike typical cyberpunk action fare, the NeonX Original focuses on dread. Kai navigates a party that never ends. Champagne glasses are perpetually full; holographic streamers freeze mid-air. The residents of this simulation don't know they are dead. They dance to a broken waltz, repeating the same 10-second conversation loops. The horror is mundane, existential, and utterly captivating. For years, major streamers ignored high-concept cyberpunk due to budget concerns. NeonX, however, has built its brand on "Boutique Dystopia."
