Showstars Updated — Filedot
The interface shift is immediately noticeable after updating. The old list-and-grid view has been replaced by the Live Canvas—an infinite scroll workspace where each file’s star rating is visualized as a glowing halo that pulses based on recent engagement. Hovering over a halo reveals real-time analytics: who starred it, when, and the decay trajectory.
It queries online databases (TheMovieDB for movies, TheTVDB for TV shows) and prints the top billed cast or starring actors.
For automation engineers, the command-line interface has been updated with new flags: filedot showstars updated
filedot showstars update --recursive --min-rating 3 --export json
New commands include --sync-cloud (to sync ratings across OneDrive/Google Drive metadata caches) and --audit-log (to track who changed a rating and when).
