  • Add the driver (point to the folder with INF):
  • Commit and unmount:
  • Recreate bootable media with the updated WIM.
  • C. Post-OS installation (when OS boots but VMD device not seen or driver needs update) F6flpy-x64-intel Vmd-.zip

Important: Do not download this ZIP file from random third-party driver websites. Always get it from Intel or your motherboard manufacturer.

You need to provide the F6flpy-x64-intel Vmd-.zip drivers during installation. By loading these drivers, Windows gains the ability to "see through" the VMD controller and access your NVMe or SATA drive. Boot Windows installer (USB/DVD)

If you cannot get the driver to work, you can disable Intel VMD in the BIOS. However, note that if Windows was previously installed with VMD on, disabling it will cause a BSOD (Blue Screen of Death).

    To disable VMD:

Warning: This method erases your existing RAID configuration. Only use this for a fresh install.

This is the critical part where you bypass the "No drives found" error. Commit and unmount:

  • Click the Load driver link at the bottom left of the window.
  • A new window will pop up. Click Browse.
  • Navigate to the location where you saved the extracted driver files (e.g., your USB drive or the Drivers folder you created).
  • Select the folder containing the driver files and click OK.
  • The wizard will scan the folder. It should list a driver named something like "Intel Chipset SATA/PCIe RST Premium Controller" or "Intel Volume Management Device NVMe Controller".
  • Click Next.
  • Success! The installation wizard will now detect your SSD, and it will appear in the drive list. You can now format/partition the drive and continue installing Windows.
