If your product sheet cites EN 13329 but your floor has visible micro-grooves, you are technically non-compliant with EU Construction Product Regulation (CPR). A competitor or building inspector could challenge your CE marking. Testing to EN 17168 is legally safer.

| Parameter | Requirement | |-----------|-------------| | Attachment method | Mechanical (e.g., rivets, screws) or bonding – must withstand max braking force without detachment | | Block pitch & pattern | Defined coordinate system for hole/block positions to ensure caliper clearance | | Backing plate thickness | Minimum 8 mm (typical steel) to resist bending under load | | Flatness | <0.3 mm over entire plate to avoid uneven wear | | Thermal stability | No deformation above 400°C (simulated emergency brake stop) | | Corrosion protection | Zinc plating or equivalent (salt spray test ≥72 h) | en 17168

The micro-groove edge exposes the raw decorative layer at an angle. Under UV light, this edge can fade faster than the flat surface. EN 17168 requires Blue Wool Scale ≥ 6 (very good lightfastness) for the groove edge, which is one step higher than EN 13329's requirement of ≥ 5. If your product sheet cites EN 13329 but
