Terminal Design was founded in 1990 by me, James Montalbano, and is located on the terminal moraine in Brooklyn, NY. Hence the name.
I originally specialized in custom typeface, lettering and logo design, and have been fortunate to have my worked commissioned by some well known publications and companies. Doing that custom work allowed me time to develop a retail font library which has grown to over 800 individual fonts. All designed, drawn and spaced by me I named almost all of them myself as well.
My professional career began as a public school industrial arts teacher, trying to keep my young students from crushing their hands in the platen presses. Having to teach wood shop was the last straw and I quit and went to graduate school. After receiving an M.Ed in Technology Education, I studied lettering with Ed Benguiat, began drawing type and working in the wild world of New York City type shops and magazine art departments. My career continued as a magazine art director, moving on to become a design director responsible for 20 trade magazines whose subject matter no one should be required to remember. I was talked into designing pharmaceutical packaging, but that only made me ill. When my nausea subsided, I started Terminal Design, Inc. and I haven’t been sick since.
Since 1995 I have been working on the Clearview type system for text, display, roadway and interior guide signage. In 2004 the 13 font ClearviewHwy family was granted interim approval by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) for use on federal roadways. It has now been over 10 years and when it gets granted permanent approval is anyone’s guess.
My work has been featured in The New York Times, Print, Creative Review, ID, Wired, and is in the permanent collection of the Smithsonian Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum.
I’m a past president of the Type Directors Club (TDC), and have taught typography at Pratt Institute and type design at School of Visual Arts (SVA). I currently teach undergraduate type design at Parsons School of Design in New York City.

Dr Najeeb Lectures Notes: Pdf

Dr. Najeeb’s teaching relies on sequential drawing. A PDF that captures these drawings allows students to visualize the lecture step-by-step even without an internet connection. Your brain stores the image of the PDF page as a memory cue during exams.

On Reddit (r/medicalschool), Telegram, or WhatsApp study groups, senior medical students often sell their own compiled Dr Najeeb notes. They watch the lecture, transcribe the drawings into PDF format, and sell the digital file for $5–$10. This is legal because it is the student’s original creation of notes, not a redistribution of Dr. Najeeb’s raw files.

Digital natives love PDFs because they can be imported into GoodNotes, Notability, or OneNote. You can highlight the sodium-potassium pump in yellow, draw arrows on the glomerular filtration rate, and sync it across your iPad and laptop.

Students look for pre-made PDF notes for three main reasons:

However, there is a catch: Dr. Najeeb’s pedagogy is built on drawing with the lecturer, not reading from a page.

The Gold Standard in Medical Education: An Analysis of Dr. Najeeb’s Lecture Notes

In the complex and high-stakes world of medical education, students often find themselves overwhelmed by the sheer volume of information they are required to master. From the intricate pathways of biochemistry to the nuanced physiological mechanisms of the human body, the need for clarity and conceptual understanding is paramount. Among the myriad of resources available to medical students worldwide, Dr. Najeeb’s lectures have emerged as a legendary resource. While his video lectures are widely celebrated, the accompanying Dr. Najeeb Lecture Notes in PDF format have become an essential tool for students seeking to streamline their study habits and reinforce their learning.

The primary value of Dr. Najeeb’s notes lies in their ability to distill complex medical concepts into digestible, bite-sized information. Dr. Najeeb is renowned for his teaching philosophy, which prioritizes conceptual understanding over rote memorization. This philosophy translates seamlessly into his written notes. Unlike standard medical textbooks, which can often be dense and laden with jargon, the PDF notes are designed to mimic the flow of a classroom lecture. They utilize bullet points, highlighted keywords, and simplified diagrams that break down intimidating topics into manageable segments. This accessibility makes them particularly valuable for students who are beginning their medical journey and need a strong foundation before diving into heavier reference texts like Harrison’s or Guyton and Hall.

Furthermore, the portability and convenience of the PDF format cater to the modern student’s lifestyle. In an era where studying often happens on the go—during commutes, in hospital corridors, or in crowded libraries—having a comprehensive set of notes on a tablet or laptop is indispensable. The PDF format allows students to quickly search for specific keywords, annotate pages with their own observations, and access information instantly without the burden of carrying heavy volumes. This ease of access facilitates spaced repetition and quick revision, two critical components of successful medical exam preparation, particularly for standardized tests like the USMLE, PLAB, and NEET. However, it is important to view these notes within the context of a broader study strategy. While Dr. Najeeb’s notes are exceptional for building a conceptual framework, they are generally considered a supplementary resource rather than a replacement for core textbooks or clinical guidelines. Medicine is a dynamic field, and diagnostic criteria or treatment protocols can change. Standard textbooks and up-to-date clinical guidelines remain the final authority for evidence-based practice. Therefore, the most effective way to utilize Dr. Najeeb’s PDF notes is as a bridge between complex theory and clinical application, using them to clarify concepts that remain ambiguous after reading standard texts.

In conclusion, Dr. Najeeb’s Lecture Notes in PDF format represent a significant milestone in digital medical education. They embody the ethos of "learning made simple," offering a lifeline to students navigating the turbulent waters of medical school. By combining conceptual depth with digital convenience, these notes have democratized access to high-quality medical instruction for students across the globe. While they should be used in conjunction with other resources, their impact on the academic success of countless medical professionals is undeniable, cementing Dr. Najeeb’s legacy as a pivotal figure in medical pedagogy.
