The story follows Jamie Ashen, a young widower who returns to his hometown of Ravens Fair to investigate the mysterious murder of his wife, Lisa. Her body was found mutilated, and the prime suspect is a strange ventriloquist doll named "Billy" that arrived at their apartment anonymously.
Upon returning to the ghost town of Ravens Fair, Jamie uncovers the legend of Mary Shaw, a ventriloquist who was humiliated and murdered by the town's ancestors. Legend has it that Mary Shaw was buried with her 101 dolls, and her spirit seeks vengeance on the families who wronged her.
The rule is simple but terrifying: "If you see her, you must scream. If you don't, she will rip your tongue out."
