| Issue | Fix | |-------|-----| | Black screen on launch | Update prod.keys, use Vulkan, disable “Fast GPU Time”. | | Textures missing | Set GPU accuracy to “High”. | | Crashes when entering menus | Turn off “Async shader building”. | | Controller not working | In Yuzu → Emulation → Configure → Controls → Set input device. |
Borderlands 2 is a last-gen game, but emulation requires power.
Borderlands 2 on Yuzu suffers from three unique problems. Here is how to fix them. Borderlands 2 Yuzu
The biggest hurdle for Borderlands 2 Yuzu is shader compilation stutter. The first time you fire a Conference Call shotgun, the emulator freezes for half a second while it builds the shader.
Solution: Pre-compiled Transferable Shader Caches.
Search for Borderlands 2 shader cache yuzu. Download the .bin file. Place it in:
/yuzu/load/010096700D53A000/
A full shader cache (approx 250 MB) will eliminate 99% of stutters. Without it, the game is nearly unplayable during boss fights. | Issue | Fix | |-------|-----| | Black
| Mod | Purpose | |-----|---------| | 60 FPS Mod | Prevents double-speed physics (guns reloading too fast, enemies zooming). | | Disable Dynamic Resolution | Keeps rendering at chosen resolution. | | No Outline Shader | Fixes occasional transparent character models. | | Improved Draw Distance | Reduces pop-in (heavier on GPU). |
📁 Mods go in:
load/0100B3C00C5A2000/romfs/(title ID varies). Enable “Use asynchronous GPU emulation” (speed boost)
| Feature | Benefit | |---------|---------| | Resolution Scaling | Up to 4K or 8K (much sharper than Switch’s 720p/1080p). | | 60/120/144 FPS | Unlocks frame rate, but note: game logic is tied to 30/60 FPS double-speed bug. Requires 60 FPS mod. | | Shader Caching | Eliminates stuttering after initial playthrough. | | Save States | Instant save/load (not available on original Switch). | | Custom Textures | Replace textures via Yuzu’s load folder. | | Cheats via EdiZon | Infinite ammo, XP boost, god mode, etc. | | Multi-Controller Support | Mix keyboard, mouse, gamepad (better than Switch’s limited options). | | Overclocking (on Steam Deck) | Steadier performance than native Switch. |
