As of mid-2025, Sekai Project has not released an official patch to unlock the Secret Files. Their last statement on the matter (2021 Steam forum post) claimed that the rights to the Secret File Disc assets are held by a defunct subsidiary of Giga, making legal relicensing impossible.

Therefore, the fan patch remains the definitive solution. The community has effectively declared the “Baldr Sky Secret Files patched” version as the canonical “Director’s Cut.”

Navigate to %USERPROFILE%\Documents\GIGA\BALDR SKY\Save. Copy all .dat files to a backup folder. The patch alters the common.dat file which stores unlock flags. baldr sky secret files patched

Do not use random links from forum posts from 2020. As of 2025, the definitive patch is Baldr Sky EN Complete Patch v2.3 (community maintained). The best source is the Baldr Sky Discord community or the “Baldr Sky Restoration Project” on GitHub. Look for a file named BS_SecretFiles_Unlocker_v2.3.7z.
