Autonomous Information Systems in Azerbaijan: Digital Transformation and AutoNumInfo Frameworks This makes the liberated zones a living laboratory

The Ministry has launched a National Intelligent Transport System (ITS) Strategy. This includes deploying over 500 smart cameras across Baku, integrating weather sensors, and building a central data center for real-time traffic analytics.

Azerbaijan’s digital backbone is robust enough to support early forms of autonomous numeric information systems. However, “autonuminfo” remains a forward-looking concept. The transition from semi-automated e-government to fully autonomous numeric information management is a strategic opportunity for the next decade.

Azerbaijan is a signatory to the UNECE’s Global Forum for Harmonized Vehicle Regulations (WP.29), which includes frameworks for Automated Driving Systems (ADS). Additionally, the country participates in the TRACECA (Transport Corridor Europe-Caucasus-Asia) program, where autonomous freight is a long-term goal.
