| Pitfall | Consequence | |---------|--------------| | Confusing CTR with gain linearity | CTR varies with I_F and temperature. It is not a constant. | | Ignoring temperature derating | At 100°C, CTR may drop 40% from 25°C value. | | Using DC CTR for AC signals | Switching delays (t_on, t_off) are independent of CTR. | | Assuming high-speed operation | Standard optocouplers are ≤ 100 kHz.
